A Rotary Voyage on the Windeward Bound is designed to challenge young Australians to be their best selves. Voyage participants will become a core part of the ship at sea. Everyone on board is a vital member of the team with their own role and responsibilities. They will need to work within their teams to face challenges and build communication skills. Sail Training, which is a strong base of the Windeward Bound voyage program, has been used for centuries to support the development of leadership, confidence, work skills and communication skills in young people. Many participants reflect that they have learned many things that support them, even many years later in life.
An adventure is an important part of youth development, and many complete an adventure portion of the Duke of Edinburgh award through voyages on the ship. This winter don’t get stuck inside, get out on the water and have an adventure that could change your life! or simply be awesome!
